Abstract

This experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of liquid slaughterhouse effluent (LSE) on values of total dry mass, leaf area index, culture growth rate, total tiller number and weight, plant height and the levels of N, P and K+ in plant tissue of the pasture Marandu grass in Entisol. Three levels of LSE (37.5, 75 and 112.5 m³ ha-1) were applied, as well as a control. The experimental design was completely randomized blocks. The total dry mass production of leaf area index, culture growth rate, tiller number and weight and plant height increased linearly (p < 0.05) with increasing levels of LSE. The levels of N, P and K+ responded according to a linear regression model (p < 0.05) with application of LSE. The concentration of N was in the range suitable for Marandu grass. The levels of P and K+, in spite of the positive response to LSE doses, were lower than the adequate rate of variation in the plant tissue of Marandu grass.
