The journal Acta Scientiarum. Education, ISSN 2178-5201 (online), created in 2010, is an electronic scientific publication edited by the Editora da Universidade Estadual de Maringá, with open access and publication of articles in a continuous flow evaluated by peers.
Focus and Scope
The journal Acta Scientiarum. Education publishes work related to Education that has not been published or disseminated in any journals, virtual spaces or event proceedings. Submissions must be unpublished and linked to one of the following thematic axes of the journal: (1) History and Philosophy of Education; (2) Teacher Training and Public Policies in Education.
The aim of the History and Philosophy of Education axis is to publish biographical, institutional, social, formal and non-formal research on educational processes.
The Teacher Training and Public Education Policies strand publishes studies on theories, legislation and policies relating to the development and professional practice of teachers.
The text must comply with the journal's publication rules and editorial guidelines. Texts are accepted in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
The evaluation process takes place using the Open Journal Systems (OJS). Only articles duly submitted in this system will be evaluated, and no other form of submission will be considered valid.
Mission
To facilitate the process of scientific communication in the field of Education, in order to guarantee the public recording, preservation and dissemination of the knowledge generated by the scientific community.
Target audience
The journal is aimed especially at researchers, students, teachers of basic education and the community in general, who are interested in topics related to the History and Philosophy of Education and Teacher Training and Public Education Policies.

Acta Scientiarum. Education is published under the Open Access model, allowing free reading and downloading, as well as copying and dissemination of its content, in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 copyright policies (CC-BY 4.0).

At the time of submission, the author must choose one of the thematic axes of the Acta Scientiarum journal. Education: (1) History and Philosophy of Education; (2) Teacher Training and Public Education Policies. The Editorial Board may publish other documents after its members have decided on the academic and scientific relevance of the proposal.
Thematic calls
The journal does not publish Dossiers, but it does accept Thematic Calls. Thematic Call proposals must be submitted by PhD professors from at least two different teaching/research institutions and must include at least three international researchers.The abstract of the proposal, in Portuguese, Spanish and English, must contain 600 characters with the following items explained: presentation, objectives and relevance to the field of Education. Thematic Call articles will be submitted and evaluated individually, following the same rules as the Journal's continuous flow articles. It should be noted that each Thematic Call can publish up to 10 articles, and the other approved articles will be published in a continuous flow according to the order of submission.The proposers of the Call for Proposals are responsible for preparing the presentation text of the articles when they are published.
IMPORTANT: Thematic Call proposals are evaluated by the Editorial Committee. Once the merits have been approved, the opening of submissions and the timetable for receiving proposals are announced. It should be noted that, unlike Dossier proposals in which the articles are evaluated as a whole, in the Thematic Call, the articles are evaluated individually by at least two referees, in the same way as articles submitted in continuous flow.
Submission fees and article processing fees (APCs)
Acta Scientiarum. Education does not charge authors any article submission or publication fees (APCs).
