Abstract

In this paper, the initiation of rotating convection in a horizontal fluid stratum under the influence of a helical force and an internal heat generation is investigated. The eigenvalue problem arising from the linear stability framework is solved via the bvp4c routine available in MATLAB R2020a. The effects of the Taylor number, distributed heat source parameter, and helical force parameter on the systems stability are examined. The results reveal that the internal heat generation parameter exhibits a non-monotonic influence on the stability, while both the helical force parameter and the Taylor number exert a stabilizing influence over various values of the internal heating parameter.
