LIDERANÇA GLOBAL: CONTEXTO, CONCEITOS E DESAFIOS NA ATUAÇÃO DE EXECUTIVOS BRASILEIROS
Abstract
The research, the basis of this article, was carried out in a high-performance multinational in the area of information technology, applied exclusively to Brazilian executives. The central objective was to assess the context of action, assimilation of differences with local leaders and the challenges faced by the global leadership dynamics. The methodological procedure, of qualitative research, proved to be more adequate to the objective, with prevalence of the exploratory nature. Did the executives selected for the research, all from the technology area, although also active in Brazil, recognize their respective development as global leadership as their main career challenge? The semi-structured interview script linked the three constructs, context, concepts, and challenges of global leadership to the perception of differences in the performance and learning of the executive in different realities and countries. The results found in the research showed the difficulty of using different languages to manage remote teams, with wide diversity, almost always in virtual connections. The operationality of the challenge of multicultural performance, in remote teams, was also found, both in the management of different time zones, as well as in the performance of long hours in different languages.
