Abstract

This is a bibliographical study with the purpose of analyzing national researches on Systemization of the Nursing Care - SNC - and the impact on the quality of such care. The sample consisted of 37 papers, published or defended from 1980 to 2005. The prevalence of faculty authors (20) and the hospital environment as a context was observed. SAE was defined in only 15 studies, and among their main objectives special attention was given to its implementation in nursing practice, in teaching and in its use by the professionals. Horta’s theoretical referential was mentioned in 17 studies, either in an isolated way or along with another model/theory, and 15 papers did not mention the methodological referential. The quality of the care was related to the application of SNC in 14 studies, in an extensive way, without mentioning the same as indicator of quality. It is considered that the theme of this study deserves special attention, in the schools which form nurses as well in their several performing environments, considering that SNC consists of a valuable tool for the professional performance and it is one of the main indicators of quality of the nursing care.
