Abstract

Current report describes the experiences of participants in the university extension program “Palliative care to cancer patients and their relatives” linked to the Nursing Department of the State University of Maringá, Maringá PR. The study sequence of the “palliative care” theme underpinning the establishing and the undertaking of the project, the implantation process and activities by participants in home visits to cancer patients under the care of relatives, is investigated. Report reflects on the issue and makes aware palliative care-dedicated health professionals towards a differentiated gaze on the care phenomenon meted to cancer patients and their families.
