Quem construiu o grande Zimbábue? Em torno do mito da incapacidade civilizadora dos povos africanos
Resumo
Desde o começo do século XVI, europeus têm escrito sobre o que entendem por atraso tecnológico, estético e moral dos povos africanos. Tomando como ponto de partida a história das hipóteses sobre as origens do complexo arquitetônico do Grande Zimbábue, este artigo discute brevemente os pressupostos etnocêntricos e racistas daquelas percepções, sua durabilidade, e seu papel funcional no desenvolvimento das ideologias supremacistas de brancos africanos.
