O “Carro triunfal arminiano”
uma sátira dortiana de Jacó Armínio e dos Remonstrantes

Resumo
O presente ensaio analisa a maneira como os remonstrantes foram satirizados durante e depois do Sínodo nacional de Dort, ocorrido entre 1618 e 1619. Analisamos, neste ensaio, o panfleto batizado de Den Arminiaensche dreckwaghen (A carroça de esterco arminiano), publicado originalmente em 1618, bem como uma edição posterior desse mesmo documento a qual provavelmente foi baseada na pintura Pacis trivmphantis delineatio, de Willem van Haecht, datada em 1577 e / ou na pintura De vrijheid van consciëntie, de Joachim Wtewael (1566-1638), datada em 1596. O método analítico adotado nesse ensaio para a verificação desses panfletos se dá por meio das contribuições de Wölflin e Panofsky.
