Abstract
The objective of this research was to verify the possible relationship of the speed of mental processing with different metacognitive levels, in masculine athletes of volleyball. For so, n=15 athletes of the Municipal Foundation of Sports was used, from Campos of Goytacazes (RJ), with age between 18 and 20 years, divided in three groups, in agreement with the individual capacity of metacognition. The five superiors scores characterized the Metacognition Superior Level Group (GNSM), the five medium scores represented the Metacognition Medium Level Group (GNMM) and the five inferior scores corresponded to the Metacognition Inferior Level Group (GNIM). Results were analyzed in the statistical package ANOVA (Oneway). Significant differences for Reaction Discrimination Time (TRD). At Tukey’s post hoc it was verified differences in the comparison between the groups GNSM-GNIM (p = 0,02). It was conclude that the athletes with high metacognitive level were faster in the comparison between groups.Downloads
