The research focuses on the field of present-day history, which allows us to observe the various religious manifestations that are involved in symbolic disputes and are perpetuated through power relations in post-modernity. The cult of the Indian Goddess is known as Shakatism, it is a doctrine of veneration of Hindu female deities, personified in several goddesses, in this aspect female religious representations are attributed with being creators of all reality. Thus, Vedic texts that circulate in the West as an instrument that guides a spiritual aspect draw our attention. One of the hymns known as Devi Mahatmaya, is an important text of worship to the great goddess, often recited in temples or by her devotees.
2025-06-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Maria Helena Pereshttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/revhist29abril/article/view/74489Heróis da mudança?2025-09-10T17:55:45+00:00André Sefrin Nascimento Pintoaspin14@gmail.com
Written in different moments from the European Middle Ages, the angle-saxon poem Beowulf and the chivalric romance in Galician-Portuguese A Demanda do Santo Graal, can be seem like transition works to the heroic archetypes and conventions from their epochs. Beowulf and Palamades, respectively, face unsurpassable dangers to the character model that both oppose. In the same way, they see themselves in front of a temporary antagonist, who belong to the criticized branch, whose antagonizing is made to reenforce that a new model is needed to deal with its social transformations, like the court culture from the British kingdoms reunited under the House of Wessex, or the dilemma resulting from the conflict between Christians and Muslim across the Mediterranean.
2025-06-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 André Sefrin Nascimento Pintohttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/revhist29abril/article/view/74424Privileging ancestral knowledge as a way to face the crisis and promote environmental preservation2025-09-10T17:57:21+00:00Marina Braga Carneiromarinabragacarneiro@gmail.com
The present work aims to demonstrate that indigenous peoples have ancestral knowledge that can help face the environmental crisis we are currently facing. To do this, we first contextualize the climate changes that have been occurring worldwide in the last century and the consequences that these changes, also called extreme weather events, are causing to society. From this, we discuss the meanings of land and nature to indigenous peoples and the knowledge and practices they share with us, which are fundamental to environmental preservation. At the same time, we use consolidated authors from different areas and approaches, such as Donna Haraway, Judith Butler, Rita Segato, Pierre Dardot and Christian Laval, to theorize and develop our hypothesis of the importance of listening to indigenous peoples and allying ourselves with them in the primordial task of "postponing the end of the world".
2025-06-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Marina Braga Carneirohttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/revhist29abril/article/view/74484Concept of wilderness applied to latin americans from the 19th to the 20th century.2025-09-10T13:13:18+00:00Aline Vanessa Locastrealine.locastre@uems.brTaís Xavier Pereirataisxavier2008@hotmail.com
The aim of the work is to critically analyze the concept of Wilderness applied to so-called Latin Americans during the 19th and 20th centuries, analyzing the textual sources of Brazilian and American authors, including Theodore Roosevelt's own account. In the first part, the theoretical basis will be built on knowledge of the 19th century context, the understanding of Latin America as inferior and the epistemological study of the word Wilderness, in addition to the idea of the “Myth of the Frontier”; the second part will observe the term Wilderness in the Roosevelt-Rondon expedition, combined with the book “Through the Brazilian Wilderness” by the former North American president. In conclusion, the marks of this pejorative concept will be presented in the 21st century, also bringing a context of resistance and struggle to break with these conceptual structures.
2025-06-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Aline Vanessa Locastre, Taís Xavier Pereirahttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/revhist29abril/article/view/74537Anti-racist history2025-09-10T18:00:16+00:00Gabriel Lopes Silvagabriellopessilvamg@gmail.comIsabela Fonseca Oliveiraisabelafonseca663@gmail.comJader Santos Chavesjadersantoschaves@hotmail.com
This work's main objective is to report the experiences lived in the activities provided by the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBID). Throughout this report, the pedagogical workshops that played a crucial role in deconstructing deeply rooted prejudices in society will be described. Topics such as anti-racism and valuing indigenous and African heritage in the Brazilian context were addressed in these workshops, highlighting their relevance for promoting equity and cultural diversity. Furthermore, the work discusses how these activities significantly contributed to the training of teaching graduates, offering them a broader and more critical understanding of sociocultural issues and improving their pedagogical practices. Finally, the report emphasizes the importance of programs like PIBID in preparing future educators to act in a conscious and inclusive manner in their careers.
2025-06-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 06200 g@briel10, Isabela de Oliveira Fonseca, Jader Santos Chaveshttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/revhist29abril/article/view/74491“Gênero” e “Ideologia de Gênero” na internet2025-09-10T13:13:15+00:00Wilian Junior Bonetewjbonete@gmail.comThayná Luiza Uhde Dalsassothaydalsasso@hotmail.com
This article presents the results of a research study developed within the scope of the project “Portal Clio HD: a collection of sources and digital objects for teaching and research in History,” which aimed to analyze online press reports published between 2019 and 2022 on the terms "gender" and "gender ideology." The investigation sought to understand the circulation of these terms in digital media, especially in light of the rise of intolerant discourses regarding gender diversity during the analyzed period. Given a context where such discourses have become increasingly frequent and influential, understanding their origins, dynamics, and impacts on the educational field is essential. The study employed Digital History methodologies, interpreting the data through both qualitative and quantitative approaches, with the support of the open-source software Voyant Tools. The results indicated that the term "gender ideology" was widely instrumentalized by far-right ultraconservative groups to delegitimize discussions on gender and sexuality. Meanwhile, the concept of "gender" was predominantly associated with femininity and the educational context, alongside a marked polarization in public debate. The study concludes that these strategies reinforce conservative norms, hindering progress toward equality and inclusion in gender relations.
2025-06-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Wilian Junior Bonete, Thayná Luiza Uhde Dalsassohttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/revhist29abril/article/view/75431Challenges and Perspectives of Teaching History in Public Schools2025-09-10T13:13:03+00:00Maria Rita Vieira Regassomariarita.vieira@uel.brMilena Piscinato Piedade Rosamilena.piscinato@uel.brFabiane Muzardofabianemuzardo@uel.br
Based on the experience of an observation internship in middle school classrooms (Ensino Fundamental II), this article aims to spark a discussion about issues related to the teaching of History in a public school located in the city of Londrina, Paraná, Brazil. Among the observed aspects are spatial arrangement of students in the classroom and the school’s material infrastructure; the interpersonal relationship between educator and student; the use – or lack – of diverse teaching resources to enhance classroom dynamics; discussions about academic performance and the use of electronic devices during lessons. Thus, this reflection seeks to create a more democratic and effective school environment by using observations to raise considerations about how History teaching is being shaped in light of the current challenges facing public education.
2025-06-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Maria Rita Vieira Regasso, Milena Piscinato Piedade Rosa, Fabiane Muzardohttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/revhist29abril/article/view/75370Paulo Freire interrrogado2025-09-10T13:13:10+00:00Daniel Longhini Vicençonidaniel.longhini97@gmail.comTatiane Furtado Ricartericartetatiane@gmail.comCézar de Alencar Arnaut de Toledocaatoledo@uem.br2025-06-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Daniel Longhini Vicençoni, Tatiane Furtado Ricarte, Cézar de Alencar Arnaut de Toledohttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/revhist29abril/article/view/76134A constituição do campo de pesquisa em História do Brasil República2025-09-10T13:13:01+00:00Vagner Domingosvagnerdomingos@usp.br
Marieta de Moraes Ferreira is one of the leading specialists in Republican Brazil, with original studies that have reshaped historiography.
