Yield of okra in relation of nitrogen levels
Abstract
The effect of nitrogen levels was evaluated on the yied of okra, Santa. Cruz, cv. This research was carried out at Universidade Federal da Paraíba, in Areia, state of Paraíba, Brazil, from April to October 2002, in experimental designe of randomized blocks, with five treatments (0; 50; 100; 150 and 200kg ha-1 of N), in four replications. Plots of 20 plants were used, spaced of 1,00m x 0,50m. The appraised characteristics were influenced by the treatments. Fruits length increased in a lineal way in relation of N elevation levels where the highest N value (14cm), obtained in the level of 200kg ha-1 N. Was inside of the limit for special fruits, that is among 11 to 15cm. The maximum production of commercial fruits per plant was 833g, obtained with 141kg ha-1 of N, while the level of 140kg ha-1 of N was responsible for the maximum production of commercial fruits (16,701kg ha-1). The most economic level of N was 133kg ha-1 and the foreseen revenue, due to its application, was of 8,453kg ha-1 of fruits.Downloads
