Evaluation of cassava clones (<em>Manihot esculenta</em> Crantz) for industry in northwest area of <em>Paraná</em> state
Abstract
The objective of this work was to evaluate some cassava clones in Araruna city, Paraná state. The experiments were installed during the agricultural years of 1999/2000, 2000/2001 and 2001/2002, and IAC 9-90, IAC 39-90, IAC 46-90 and IAC 62-90 clones were evaluated having Branca de Santa Catarina, IAC 12 and Fibra cultivars as patterns. The experimental design used was randomized complete blocks with four replicates. Disease incidence was low in all genotypes. A combined analysis showed significant interaction (p<0,05) among the genotypes and years for most of the characteristics except for stem diameter, storage roots length and roots dry matter content. For the storage roots yield, Fibra and IAC 12 cultivars as well as IAC 46-90 clone have stood out. The cultivar Fibra and the IAC 46-90 and IAC 62-90 clones showed highest dry matter root yield.Downloads
