Soil management and time of nitrogen application on upland rice crop - DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v27i2.1905
Abstract
The appropriate management of crops allows to increase the productivity as well as to improve grains quality produced by crops. This study aimed at evaluating the soil management (heavy disk + leveling disk; disk plow + leveling disk; no-till) and nitrogen application at different growth stages on upland rice crop under sprinkler irrigation conducted in Selvíria, Paraná, in the agricultural years 2001/02 and 2002/03. The soil used was a typical Acrustox, originally under savannah vegetation. The soil management does not interfere in the industrial quality components of rice, as soil management with disk-plow and/or moldboard-plow provided similar productivity. The nitrogen application on the sowing and/or at tillering stage provides higher grain yield than control without nitrogen.Downloads
