Abstract
A field survey accomplished for 24 areas cropped with peach palm in northwest Paraná provided enough information to show a high occurrence of weeds such as Brachiaria decumbens, Cenchrus echinatus, Panicum maximum, Emilia sonchifolia, Sida spp, and Sida micranthum. Most difficult weeds to control are perennial such as Cynodon dactylon, Cyperus spp. and S. micranthum), or those where glyphosate is less effective (Commelina benghalensis, Heteranthera limosa). A preliminar greenhouse assay, with the aim of evaluating herbicides with potential to be used in this crop demonstrataed that, among 22 herbicides evaluated, atrazine, [atrazine+simazine], azafenidin, clethodim, fluazifop, halosulfuron, nicosulfuron, sethoxydim and tebuthiuron were the most selective. In as second greenhouse assay, herbicides were applied directly to soil surrounding plants and in plants over top. Applied in pre-emergence, [diuron+MSMA], [diuron+paraquat], 2,4-D, glyphosate, MSMA and oxyfluorfen did not cause injuries in peach palm plants, being this mode considered as the most promissory.Downloads
