Abstract

This work was carried out to evaluate a set of sweet potato Ipomoea batatas (Convovulaceae) clones for Meloidogyne spp. (Nematoda) resistance. The experiment was conducted in plastic house by employing foam trays fitted with substrate and eggs of M. javanica and M. incognita races 1, 2, 3 and 4, in the proportion of 30.000 eggs/L of substrate. It was used randomized blocks design with 14 treatments (clones), 4 replicates and 12 plants per plot. Evaluations for number of root knot were made at 90 days after the inoculation. Attention was given for Rio Doce, Brazlândia Roxa and Paulistinha clones that showed higher degree of resistance to Meloidogyne spp
