Susceptibility period of peanut to attack of thrips and its effects on productivity - DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v29i2.271
Abstract
Among the main pests that attack the culture of the peanut, the thrips, Enneothrips flavens, are distinguished. The aim of this work was to determine the period of greater susceptibility of the culture to the attack of thrips and its consequence for productivity. The project was carried out at “Fazenda de Ensino e Pesquisa da Faculdade de Engenharia - FEIS/Unesp” - Ilha Solteira, State of São Paulo, Brazil. During the implantation, Tégua cultivar of low load and long cycle was used. The experimental design was randomized blocks with 16 treatments and four repetitions. The insecticide used was Tamaron 600 CE©(methamidophos), with a 10-days-application interval. The number of nymphs and adults thrips, leaf area, height of plants, leaf number and nodules for plant, weight of the dry matter of plant top and the productivity were determined. Results showed that from 40 to 90 days after the emergency is the period that represents greater susceptibility of the peanut to the attack of thrips.Downloads
