Response of wheat cultivars irrigated by sprinkler to side dressing nitrogen under savannah soil - DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v29i3.471
Abstract
The high demand of nitrogen for wheat crop increases the importance of the study of doses to different wheat cultivars. The studied doses were 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 kg ha-1 as urea at side dressing in 4 wheat cultivars (IAC 24, IAC 364, IAC 370 and IAC 373) in 4 replications. The soil is a Red loamy dystrophic Latosol (Haplustox), irrigated by a sprinkler system. The length of spikes and the spikelets number for spikes increased significantly with N doses; the doses of N increased leaf N content, the spikes number for meter, the mass of 100 grains and the grain yield up to 77, 74, 68 and 70 kg ha-1 of N, respectively. It is recommended, seeking the productivity of grains, the application of 70 kg ha-1 of N, at side dressing, to any cultivar.Downloads
