Abstract
This work aimed to evaluate the use of acid silage from tilapia filleting residue in the diet of piauçu fish (Leporinus macrocephalus) juveniles. Threehundred juveniles, divided into three weight ranges (2.0-2.5; 2.51-3.0 and 3.01-3.5 g), were distributed in 30 fish tanks with 100 liters of useful volume each. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design, with two replications each. The fish were fed ad libitum with no leftovers, twice a day, with isoproteic (32% CP) and isoenergetic (4,150 kcal kg-1 GE) diets. Five treatments were applied: 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8% of tilapia filleting residue acid silage in the diets. During the entire experiment, water quality was maintained under ideal conditions for the species. Performance parameters, body composition, hepatosomatic index and mesenteric fat index were evaluated. After 84 days, no significant differences for any of the tested treatments were observed (p > 0.05), indicating that up to 8% of tilapia filleting residue acid silage can be included in the diets of piauçu juveniles.Downloads
