Abstract
With the purpose of studying the effect of biostimulation on reproductive traits, 82 primiparous beef cows were distribuited into two treatment groups: biostimulated (BE) or not (NE) by teaser bulls during 83 days before the breeding season. Before the start of artificial insemination period, accumulated cycling rates were 21 .05% (BE) and 6.81% (NE). Higher serum progestrone levels were observed in biostimulated cows, but response depends on nutritional status (body condition score). When associated with weaning before the start of insemination period, biostimulation did not affect pregnancy rate (BE=97.38%; NE=100%), mean insemination julian date (BE=332.9; NE=333.21), nor repeat breeding rate (BE=21%; NE=19%).Downloads
