Abstract
We evaluated the supplemental protein (12% crude protein (CP) (T1) and 16% CP (T2)) in rectal temperature (RT), respiratory rate (RR) and heart rate (HR), glucose (Gl), albumin (Alb), total protein (TP), triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) in 16 Santa Ines, 16 Texel and 15 Ile de France ewes. The RR was not differing in T1 and T2 in Santa Ines and Ile de France, being higher in Texel in T2. FR increased in the spring, in the Texel, followed by Ile de France and Santa Ines, and decreased in fall in Santa Ines and Ile de France. RR was higher in the afternoon, in the Texel, in Ile de France and Santa Ines. Higher HR in Santa Ines and Texel in T1, and smaller in Ile de France. HR in Santa Ines was higher in the seasons, and spring higher for all breeds. Greater Gl, TP, Alb and T3 in Santa Ines, and equal for Texel and Ile de France. T3 higher for the Santa Ines in the winter; in Texel higher in winter and spring; no differences for Ile de France. Gl, T3 and T4 were similar for T1 and T2, and PT and Alb were higher in T2.Downloads
