Abstract

Peperomia parnassifolia Miq. is a herbaceous species that occurs in forest remnants in Maringá, Brazil, among other places. The stem and reproductive organs of this species are the objects of the present study. Samples of botanical material (fresh or fixed in FAA 50/FPA 50) were cut using a rotation microtome, in accordance with usual practice. The spike axis features a polystelic structure. Bracts are peltate with a homogeneous mesophyll. The gynoecium is monocarpous, has a stigma with two lobes, solid style, ovary with simple structure and an atropous, crassinucellate and unitegmic ovule. The anther wall consists of epidermis, endothecium, one middle layer and a uninucleate secretory tapetum. The fruit is a berry and its seed is perispermic. Possui graduação em Botânica Aplicada Às Plantas Medicinais Turma II pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1972) , mestrado em Ciências Biológicas (Botânica) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1978) e doutorado em Ciências Biológicas (Botânica) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1981) . Atualmente é professor titular da Universidade Estadual de Maringá, Outro (especifique) Professor e orientador da Universidade Federal do Paraná, Bolsista de Produtividade em Pesquisa do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico, funcionário da Universidade Estadual de Londrina, Professor Titular do Centro de Ciências Biológicas, Membro de corpo editorial da Acta Botanica Brasilica e Membro de corpo editorial da Acta Scientiarum (UEM). Tem experiência na área de Botânica , com ênfase em Morfologia Vegetal. Atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Acacia paniculata - Lonchocarpus muehlbergianus
