Coping with arterial hypertension

This is an exploratory study with 50 hypertensive individuals aiming to know how they perceive and cope with arterial hypertension. Data collected by an interview revealed that 40% of them have realized their hypertension conditions for over ten years and 30% had no symptom of the disease while diagnosis process. Most of them think that the arterial hypertension is a disease that requires concern, fear and revolt. The majority has a negative evaluation of life after the hypertension diagnosis.
