Abstract

The paper proposes the analysis of the establishment of secondary residences in small towns, in case the city of Puerto Rico / PR. The gated communities with second homes are the result of tourism activities that have been developing in the region. The city is beside the river Paraná, the main tourist attraction. The result of the expansion of tourism in the city is a new functionality to the city.
