Abstract

This paper aims to address physical aspects in the way of Maringá to the terraces of Paraná River in Mato Grosso do Sul state. This work was performed as a complement of the event organized by the Grupo de Estudos Multidisciplinares do Ambiente - GEMA, called the First Seminar of Multidisciplinary Research Environment for the period of 28/04/2010 until 01/05/2010. Along the way were made five stops to observe and demonstrate the different lithologic units associated with the evolution of the landscape. At the first point, the city of Maringá was observed a top of basaltic stroke and soils from this rock; at the second point, in Mandaguaçu were analyzed rocks and soils from Caiuá Formation; at the third stop was observed a gully in the city of Nova Esperança, formed from the concentration of water flow, mainly from the highway, and high susceptibility to erosion of the soils of this region; at the fourth stop was evident in the landscape a testimony differential relief, called "Morro dos Três Irmãos", formed from layers of silicified Bauru group with greater resistance to weathering action; and the fifth and final stop was on the Paraná River, its flood plain and terraces in the city of Bataiporã-MS, aimed to the analysis of the geomorphological, influences of paleoclimate and fluvial dynamic.
