Synthesis cartography and Health Geography: theorical approaches

Abstract

In its history, Medical Geography has always been based in spatialization of information related to the manifestation of different kind of diseases in geographical space. Hereafter, with the develop of the studies aimed to Health Planning, there’s the necessity to elaborate maps more accurate to better decisions making. With this, the actual Health Geography utilizes maps to reach its study objects. In this way, the present paper aims to show the contribuitions of a synthesis maps provides to Planning and Health Management. Searched in bibliography concerned to SIG and Health Geography areas, as well works that utilized synthesis maps to elucidate the importance of this kind of mapping. With this, we we’re capable to understand the importance of this maps to Territorial Planning in Health, as well new tools and techniques.
