Center and news expressions of centrality in intermediate cities: the answers of the traditional center in the redefinition of the old

Abstract

This paper is a reflexive movement substantiated in spatial and territorial dynamics arising from the process of urban and the city restructuring that are established from new location strategies of capital under inter and intra-urban in order to improve the capital accumulation , expanding markets and deepening the goods world. The analytical approach used in the development of reflection are the new expressions of centrality, more specifically those which enable a complexity of the interpenetration of spatial scales, focusing on vertical integration economic and territorial of capital in fragments of the urban structure, finally modifying the design process. In this direction, it is expressions of centrality that were not derived from complexity of the contents of the fragments of the urban structure and relationships of the fragments in terms of the total urban mesh by horizontal growth of that tissue.
