Historiografia urbana en latinoamerica: del positivismo al postmodernismo
Abstract
O artigo aborda o desenvolvimento da historiografia urbana e do urbanismo na América Latina, desde alguns de seus antecedentes positivistas de fíns do século XIX e começos do século XX, para depois conscentrar-se no período em que estes campos sub-disciplinares começaram a definir-se epistemológicamente, desde os anos 1960. A História urbana se relaciona com as disciplinas que a alimentaram – História econômica e social, geografia, História da arquitetura – assim como com alguns modelos que a inspiraram, tais como a escola da Dependência, a dos Annales, Pós-modernismo, etc. A conformação da historiografia latino-americana será ilustrada através de figuras e obras chave que se consideram especialmente influentes na região. Ao se revisar alguns dos autores e obras que se ocuparam da urbanização, a cidade e o urbanismo, se trata de manter uma distinção entre História urbana e do urbanismo, entendendo por esta última a da disciplina e seus modelos prospectivos. Abstract. The article addresses the development of Latin America’s urban and planning historiography, from some of its positivist antecedents during the late nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth, focusing afterwards on the period after the 1960s, when these fields started to epistemologically differentiate. Urban history is related with the disciplines that have nourished it – economic and social history, geography, architectural history – as well as with some models that have inspired it, such as the School of Dependency, the Annals School, postmodernism and so forth. The shaping of Latin America’s historiography will be illustrated throughout key figures and works that are considered especially influential for the region. While reviewing some of the authors and works dealing with the urbanization, the city and its urbanism, a distinction between urban and planning history is aimed at, the latter understood as the history of the discipline and its prospective models.Downloads
