About the Journal
Focus & Scope
Mission
Our scope is to publish unpublished articles and original research in the areas of history, cultural studies and humanities that establish a dialogue with advances in contemporary historiography and privilege the underlying historical contexts in the analysis of sources. Disseminate research practices and book reviews.
Editorial Policy
The purpose of Diálogos magazine is to publish and disseminate, preferably, unpublished works in the area of history, avoiding their simultaneous presentation in another periodical.
The following may be accepted for publication: articles and reviews
The book reviewed must have been published (or republished) at most two years ago, being the national edition, and at most three years ago, being the foreign edition.
Diálogos magazine only publishes texts by authors with a minimum doctorate degree. Doctoral students may have their work evaluated, as long as it is presented in co-authorship with the supervisor. Postgraduate students will be able to submit reviews for evaluation, even without co-authorship with their advisors.
Every author who has published in Diálogos magazine undertakes to be an article evaluator in future editions.
Diálogos magazine publishes 3 issues per year.
Peer Review Process
The originals submitted to the Diálogos Editorial Board, as long as they meet the magazine's standards for publication, will be sent for peer review.
The review system is double-blind: the names of the reviewers will remain confidential, and the names of the authors will also be omitted from the reviewers. Ad hoc reviewers will be specialized researchers dedicated to the themes. The opinions issued will serve as input to the editors, with the final decision remaining with them.
If there are conflicting opinions, the editor will request the analysis of a third reviewer.
The text and other information made available in the evaluation process must be treated confidentially and cannot be used for any other purpose.
With each issue of Diálogos magazine, the editors may invite authors of recognized knowledge in a specific area of knowledge to participate in round tables or dossiers.
