TRANSFORMAÇÃO E TRADIÇÃO: A INFLUÊNCIA DO PENSAMENTO POLÍTICO E IDEOLÓGICO DO MUNDO ROMANO CLÁSSICO NA ANTIGUIDADE TARDIA

Resumo

A Antiguidade Tardia (séculos III/VIII) é reconhecida como uma época de transformações políticas e ideológicas com respeito ao precedente período clássico greco-latino. Não obstante, simultaneamente a estas novas perspectivas, a manutenção de vínculos com a tradição clássica revela-nos a importância e a força do pensamento político e ideológico do passado republicano e imperial romano como elemento legitimador das novas realidades políticas representadas, na Antiguidade Tardia, pelas monarquias romano-bárbaras. Tais tradições culturais e políticas, transformadas, são analisadas no presente artigo através do pensamento político e ideológico de três autores: Marco Túlio Cícero, Aelius Lampridius e Isidoro de Sevilha. Abstract. The Late Antiquity (III / VIII centuries) is recognized as a time of political and ideological changes with respect to the previous classical Greco-Latin period. However, along with these new perspectives, the maintenance of links with the classical tradition shows us the importance and strength of political thought and ideology of republican and imperial Roman past as the legitimacy of new political realities represented, in Late Antiquity, the Roman-barbarian monarchies. Cultural and political traditions that have been transformed, and analyzed in this article through the ideological and political thought of three authors, Marco Túlio Cicero, Aelius Lampridius and Isidore of Seville.
