O MOVIMENTO POPULAR POR MORADIA E A QUESTÃO URBANA EM CURITIBA (1986-1992)

Resumo. O artigo tem por objetivo resgatar a história de luta dos trabalhadores pobres por um lugar para morar na cidade de Curitiba, Paraná. Os vigorosos movimentos pela ocupação do espaço urbano eclodiram em vários pontos da cidade, no período de 1988 a 1992, com destaque para as ocupações do Xapinhal e Ferrovila. A experiência vivenciada pelos trabalhadores pobres foi singular em cada localidade, no entanto, as lutas populares tornaram-se instituintes e questionaram a estrutura dominante, articularam setores sociais heterogêneos e avançaram na construção de um novo tecido social. Abstract. The article has the purpose of discussing the history of low income workers’ struggle for a place to live in the urban area of Curitiba PR Brazil. Strong movements of urban area occupation came to light in several points of the city, especially the Xapinhal and Ferrovila occupations. The experience lived by low income workers was unique in each settlement. Popular movements became organized forces which questioned the dominant structure, articulated heterogeneous social sectors and headed towards the construction of a new society.Descargas
