O presente artigo estuda a obra de Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie como forma de avançar na compreensão de duas questões relativas à tradição dos Annales: a abordagem da história política e a maneira pela qual a escola articulou os diversos elementos do todo social (econômico, demográfico, social, etc.).
