LAS LUCHAS POLÍTICO-DEMOCRÁTICAS ATRAVÉS DE LA PRENSA Y LA CONVENCIÓN NACIONAL CONSTITUYENTE DE 1870

Resumo. Durante la ocupación , en el año 1869 aparece el periódico “La Regeneración”; etapa conocida como “de las luchas democráticas” en el Paraguay, cuyas manifestaciones publicadas exclusivamente en dicho periódico serán tomadas para este breve estudio histórico; además de otras formas de presentar los comentarios relacionados con la vida cotidiana y la guerra que aún seguía comandada por el Presidente López. La agitación política fue el desahogo de la postguerra, reflejada en las luchas de poderes hacia la Convención Nacional Constituyente de 1870. La Constitución trajo nuevas ideas y fuerza de opinión, tanto política como culturalmente, conociéndosela como la más “democrática”, con la libertad de expresión, manifestada a través de la nueva prensa escrita Abstract. During the period of military occupation of Asunción, there appeared a newspaper entitled “La Regeneración”. This period begining in 1869, is known as the period of “democratic struggles”. The articles published in “La Regeneración” will be the foundation of this brief historical study. This study will also illuminate the commentaries about everyday life and the war, still being fougt by Solano López in isolated regions of the nation. The political instability of the period was reflected by the National Constitutional Convention of 1870, during which control and power was bitterly contested. Nevertheless the Constitution brought new opinions and ideas to the fore; these opinions and ideas were not only political but also cultural in nature. The new Constitution became known as the “most democratic” in Paraguayan history. The press, such as “La Regeneración”, took advantage of the liberties awared under the new constitution to vocalize many of these emergent political and cultural thoughts.Téléchargements
