Sowing the thought of Enrique Dussel: compelling epigraphs for decolonizing, liberating, and fostering hope
Abstract
Written as a free essay, this text aims to present fragments of Enrique Dussel’s Philosophy of Liberation in Latin America as if sowing his ideas to the wind, without knowing if they will take root. It is not an analytical, historical, comparative, or exploratory study... rather, it relates to a reflection of the soul before any interference from the mind. Methodologically – if one could say there is any methodology – the text was crafted from compelling sentences taken from the mentioned book, which function as generators epigraphs (returning to Paulo Freire) of ideas for decolonizing, liberating, and fostering hope. In the end, it is hoped that the reflections presented here will mobilize further reflections regarding the urgent and necessary decolonial process of human life.
