TEORIAS DA DEPENDÊNCIA: ABORDAGENS SOBRE O DESENVOLVIMENTO LATINO-AMERICANO
Abstract
Neste artigo apresentamos alguns elementos das abordagens teóricas realizadas sobre o desenvolvimento latino-americano e suas análises das formas de inserção econômica internacional, destacando a visão do pensamento periférico, a revisão das teorias da dependência e aspectos do debate entre dependentistas. Tratando-se do século XIX, na “tradição” intelectual latino-americana sobre a inserção dos novos países da região na economia mundial predominou o enfoque dualista da civilização ou da barbárie e a teoria ricardiana das vantagens comparativas na divisão internacional do trabalho, que, por sua vez, foi base da crítica produzida pela Comissão Econômica para a América Latina (CEPAL). Da revisão dependentista analisamos, inicialmente, sua crítica ao estruturalismo rostowiano e ao cepalino, e, em seguida, situaremos aspectos da discussão realizada entre intelectuais das teorias da dependência, no que se refere à relação entre a dependência e o desenvolvimento, e nuanças de sua publicização no Brasil. Abstract. Elements on the theoretical approaches with regard to Latin American development and analyses of its international economic insertion are provided. Periphery, revision of dependence theories and aspects of the debate among “dependentists” are analyzed. The dual focus of civilization and barbarity was dominant during the 19th century and within the contexto of traditional Latin American intellectual thought on the insertion of the new countries within world economy. This was corroborated by the Ricardian theory of comparative advantages within the international work division, criticized by the Economical Commission for Latin America (CEPAL). In the context of dependence revision, critique on Rostowian and Cepal structuralism will be undertaken. Aspects of the discussion among intellectuals on dependence theories with regard to the relationship between dependence and development and nuances on its publicity in Brazil will be given and investigatedDownloads
