Aspectos da(s) ideia(s) de Europa na Época Moderna
Abstract
Este texto busca discutir alguns aspectos da(s) ideia(s) de Europa na Época Moderna, partindo da hipótese de que no período ela possuía, em relação aos dias atuais, grau mais alto de fragmentação, ora apresentando-se como representante da “cristandade”, como nos séculos XV e XVI, ora relacionando-se a ideia de “civilização”, como na segunda metade do século XVIII. O artigo argumenta que tiveram papel fundamental nesse processo as dinâmicas políticas do período, os textos humanistas, o papel da alteridade e a discussão sobre história e costumes no “Século das Luzes”.
