Resumo
O meu objetivo é analisar o romance de James Fenimore Cooper The Pioneers. Escolhi esse texto por ser ele revelador das contradições e conflitos da sociedade norte-americana entre 1800 e 1850. Embora o mito norte-americano evidencie que os Estados Unidos foram construídos por homens simples e pequenos proprietários, Cooper revela a perspectiva conservadora que unia parte da elite do país.
