Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze the absolute number of hospitalization due to respiratory diseases, related to climate variability in Maringá, from 2000 to 2007. It was used the informations from maximum temperatures, minimum and average relative humidity, rainfall, atmospheric pressure, direction and wind speed, cloud cover and air masses. It has been chosen the months of january and july 2000, january and june 2003, january and june 2007, for the construction of rhythmic analysis. It was observed that the months of january had few records of hospitalizations, almost three times more in june and july, due to several motive, such as: reduced rainfall, as the Polar Atlantic Mass (mPa) being more active, which causes the sudden drops in temperature and relative humidity in the air. These factors were favorable to the appearance of allergic rhinitis, cold influenza and pneumonia {flu}, because the human body takes some time to get used to this change of weather, making it extremely vulnerable. Based on the done investigations, it was observed important statement between the climate variability and the hospitalizations by respiratory diseases, in Maringá.Downloads
