Abstract

This work intends to highlight the effects of water erosion, the influence of geomorphological, pedological and rainfall characteristics in this process and the negative effects of human actions on the modification of these characteristics on a stretch of a tributary of the River Km 119, which starts within the urban perimeter, in the municipality of Campo Mourão in the West-Central Region of Paraná. The analyzed area receives much of the rainfall from North and West of the city, because the water catchment network directs to the location, which is the one of the main causes of the problem of erosion, along the grounding with construction waste, made downstream from the source in the urban area. In this way were made survey data regarding the characteristics of the area, such as topography, soil type, climate and vegetation type and field observations with instruments such as cameras and satellite imagery for verification of the conditions and evolution of morphology of the site, as well as the search for historical information and human actions. Therefore, should make a collection of information, both as pedological to geomorphologic constructs systems of galleries and containment works, as well as reforestation of the area.
