Abstract

This study aimed to discuss urban development and morphology of the city of Campo Mourao - PR; in the period extending of 1940 at 2012. The theoretical approach is based on the study of urban morphology. It was felt that the city expanded of 412, 10 ha (hectares) to 1.943,32 ha in today, composing 104 sectors or districts. Was used Images including aerial image, for diagnostic of the urban area that represents the initial plan. In 2012 was used an image obtained from Google Earth software, of satellite, to represent the actual area. The population grew from 200 to 87.194 people. These population data were obtained from the Plan de Campo Mourao (2007) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), in 2010.
