CHALLENGES AND POSSIBILLITIES OF SOCIAL REPRODUCTION OF THE FAXINALENSE PEASANTS WAY OF LIFE IN PARANÁ
Abstract
This work aims to comprehend how the faxinalenses peasants of Paraná have been keeping the social reproduction of their way of life among the actual global changes. The faxinais are represented by several communities, located on the Center-south and Southeast parts of Paraná in which they practice common use of their land. Nowadays the faxinais are passing by several conflicts. Those conflicts happen among different ways of natural resources appropriation moved by profits and land income as soy plantation, pinus and eucaliyptus and land commerce. There are several strategies of resistance that the faxinalenses develop to avoid these actions related to land valorization on the region that the faxinais are located. We aim to bring to light these strategies that are related basically to the movement of collective self affirmation in which the faxinalenses are recognized as “traditional people”. This way, it is understood that the lands of common use of the faxinais are area gathering new meanings for the faxinalenses and for society as a hole in a movement that the possibilities of social reproduction are been constantly pondered.
