LEISURE AS OBJECT OF GEOGRAPHY STUDY
Abstract
Leisure has become, in the contemporaneity, the subject of studies in several areas of knowledge. In the Geography, the studies focused on this subject are still incipiente, being the researcher responsable of articulation of this with Geography. This article is a synthesis of part of the results of a master's thesis that had as central focus the appropriation of the space for practice of the nocturnal leisure in the city of Maringá, Paraná.This research arose It to clarify this problematic and objectived of presenting, through the categories of analysis, space, territory and place, investigative possibilities about the leisure from its materialization in the space. Through a bibliographical survey it was possible to notice that space is directly linked to leisure, and space is still the locus of these actions. Already the territory arises as a possibility to adequately explain some specific human groups, as well as the understanding of the distribution and consequences of the planning of facilities for leisure equipment and the place linked to the sensation of belonging to a given space.
