SMALL TOWNS IN THE “REGIÃO INTEGRADA DE DESENVOLVIMENTO DO DISTRITO FEDERAL E ENTORNO”: TERRITORIAL DYNAMICS AND HABITATIONS

Abstract

The “Região Integrada de Desenvolvimento do Distrito Federal e Entorno” (RIDE) aggregates towns of the states of Goiás and Minas Gerais, besides the Federal District. In this complex centralized by Brasília, federal capital and national metropolis, we find several small towns that are directly and indirectly impacted by the metropolitan dynamics. In this sense, the present work aim to discuss the small town, considering the issue of public policies, management and planning, based on the case study on “Corumbá de Goiás”. It presents preliminary data from the study on small towns within the RIDE/DF. Specifically, it highlights the problem of urbanization with regard to housing of social interest in a small towns, exemplified by the case study on-screen.
