Abstract

The model of development based on sharp exploitation of resources, has shown the difficulty of the planet recover from the impacts of this practice, exposing the need to adopt sustainable production and development. As a result, the generation of solid waste has emerged as one of the most debated subjects in the urban environment. Thus, there were laws and regulations in order to contribute to the management of waste, such as the National Policy on Solid Waste (Federal Law 12,305 / 10) and the National Plan for Solid Waste (Federal Decree 7,404 / 10). Another point addressed concerns the environmental education and urban sanitation, where the creation of guidelines, through management tools, seek to improve the current scenario. The maringaense municipality, sought to develop administrative methods, which were consistent with the assumptions of PNRS and other laws and regulations. Thus, this study sought to identify the reasons that contribute to the improper disposal of waste in the public space of urban road located in the city of Maringa, to give birth using qualitative instruments. The work provides a comparative analysis of the results obtained through the application of qualitative methodology and concepts developed by the literature related to the subject.
