THEORY OF REGISTERS SEMIOTIC REPRESENTATION APPLIED TO THE CONCEPT OF SCALE CARTOGRAPHIC IN GEOGRAPHICAL DIDACTIC BOOKS

Abstract

The problem regarding the concept of scale is recurrent in the literature, however it was not observed in these studies with a semiotic approach and what the implications of this concept with the mathematics in the process of construction of the geographic knowledge. In this case, the strategies and activities proposed by the textbooks adopted by the public schools of the city of Maringá (PR). Were observed and another content of this process was analyzed in the evaluation of the scale concept. It was noted the complexity of the subject from the foundations of mathematics and the difficulties of geography to adopt it in its practices which is particularly derived from pre-knowledge derived from mathematics but which are not taught, since the concept of scale is charged by geography itself.
