THEORETICAL TREATMENT OF TIME IN GEOGRAPHY: METHODOLOGICAL POSSIBILITIES
Abstract
The paper stems from the realization of a seminar, given by the authors at the State University of Maringá. The proposal is based on recognition of the need to dwell on how to deal with time in Geography. Based on the literature review and the reflections that arise from the authors' own research, the paper seeks to bring the subject to the proponents of research in Geography, without intending to carry out an exhaustive approach. In addition to retrieving general considerations about different perspectives in the approach of time in Geography, the article focuses on the concrete practice of the research and the different possibilities regarding the treatment of time in this practice. Possibilities that show the existence of several levels of depth in the consideration of time and derive in examples and suggestions on the processes of cutting time, the treatment of multiple times and the approximations to the lived spaces-time.
