Abstract
The mission of Geography in teaching is to literate the student in reading the geographical space, in its various scales and configurations, and Physical Geography, turns to the study of the Earth's natural dynamics and derivations from anthropic action on the nature. At present, we have questioned the didactic treatment given to the physical themes of Geography in relation to the didactic material, since some studies point to an approach of the physical-natural themes in a fragmented way, with predominance of the description of the natural aspects of the planet. Therefore, this work had the objective of analyzing the approach of Physical Geography contents in didactic books of geography used by the public education of Cornélio Procópio-PR. Methodologically, the research was carried out through bibliographies specialized in the subject; preparation of an evaluation form for textbooks; evaluation of the textbooks of Geography of Elementary School and analysis of the results obtained. As a result, it was verified that in the textbooks evaluated the traditional approach of the physical themes of Geography prevailed, focused on the dynamics of nature, focusing on the description of the natural picture, physical and natural processes and geological time, with weak or nonexistent connection with society and environmental derivations.
