ROAD ARBORIZATION IN MARINGÁ-PR FROM 1940 TO 2015: A BIOGEOGRAPHIC STUDY

Abstract

This article aims to present biogeographic aspects related to tree vegetation on public roads in the city of Maringa-PR, from a time scale between the years 1940 and 2015. The research involves bibliographic, documentary and fieldwork of tree vegetation. planted on public roads in the municipality. A comparative analytical study will be made of road afforestation in older and new neighborhoods, of tree vegetation planted on public roads. The neighborhoods chosen to carry out the research were six: Zone 2, Vila Morangueira, Innocent Set Vilanova Jr. (Borba Gato), Oasis Garden, Garden Italy and Oriental Garden. The Maringa road afforestation process, from the original planting in the Pilot Plan, followed the aesthetic dimension of flowering and began to prioritize the aspect of shading, softening the temperature and providing quality of life in the urban environment to its citizens. Therefore, the research emphasizes the biogeographic aspects of the vegetation, with attention to the planning of the planting of the arboreal road vegetation in the city of Maringa-PR. Through inventory will be collected data to assess the status of the tree heritage, and the physical and biological aspects, the planting of new species that may cause less social and environmental impact and greater urban environmental quality.
