NOTAS SOBRE A ORGANIZAÇÃO E A TRANSFORMAÇÃO DA PEQUENA CIDADE DE GARIBALDI-RS

Abstract

The city of Garibaldi has features of Italian heritage – both in economy and in culture and space. The general objective of this research is to discuss the organization and spatial transformation of the city of Garibaldi, understanding its relationship with the dynamics of the Cooperativa Vinícola Garibaldi. As a method of analysis, the spatial categories of Milton Santos (1985) were used: form, function, structure and process, seeking to analyze the categories of space through their observation and historical evolution and, as methodological resources, the following stand out: data collection, landscape recording, field work, literature review and material analysis. As the main urban agents are immigrants and Cooperativa Vinícola Garibaldi, the methods of analysis were applied to these, concluding, in this way, that both are essential for the structure of Garibaldi's space, for its spatial organization, for history, economy and tourism. Therefore, Garibaldi brings together, in its urban environment, old and current spatial categories that crystallize in space, benefiting from these characteristics and articulating urban growth with the history and economic dynamics of the place.
