EXPEDIÇÕES GEOGRÁFICAS NO PARQUE ESTADUAL DA SERRA DO TABULEIRO DURANTE A PANDEMIA DA COVID-19 (2020-2021)
Abstract
This text aims to present the research and outreach actions carried out by the Expedições Geográficas Program at Parque Estadual da Serra do Tabuleiro, Brazil, during the pandemic period of 2020 and 2021. The activities were significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, posing challenges and demanding virtual adaptations to the Program's practices, which had previously been conducted in person. In response, geographic study guides were created and developed for the Maço, Guarda, and Restinga do Maciambu Trails, targeting basic education and teacher training. The documentary research explored bibliographic references, official documents, and fieldwork records to support the development of these educational guides. The theoretical framework was based on the reflections of Luciano Zanetti Pessôa Candiotto, Maria da Glória Gohn, Simone Beatriz Reckziegel Henckes, Sônia Cláudia Barroso da Rocha, and Augusto Fachín Terán, who discuss non-formal education spaces as means for disseminating scientific knowledge, including geographic understanding. We consider that the didactic transposition of in loco knowledge into virtual study guides produced positive outcomes, such as the expansion of the educational reach. These outreach actions, by becoming scientific dissemination and didactic materials, reaffirmed the importance of practices that integrate teaching, research, and extension, even in times of adversity.
