Abstract

This study aims from urban land mapping, with the use of geospatial technologies and data collected in units of the Family Health Program (in Brazil known as PSF), to evaluate the spatial and temporal variation of the welfare levels and quality of life in the city of Rondonópolis and verifying the correlation between these variables and the usage patterns and land use in that city. An exploratory analysis of the data from the Basic Atention National Policy, from 2010 to 2014, revealed that the respiratory and circulatory problems are the most frequent, assuming in their treatments, the physical activities performance. Therefore, the use of public spaces for this purpose, resonates as a challenge in small and medium cities, especially in its peripheral areas, where seldom there is little or no public space that can be used to carry out activities within the health sector. In this perspective, we expect the results of this study to suggest new possibilities of intervention in the urban planning of the city of Rondonópolis, with regard to location, maintenance and ornamentation of these spaces for health and quality of life of its population.
